Our Good Friends

We have all been friends with people that we thought we will be friends with for ever.
Haven't we?
Our high-school classmates? Our childhood friends? Our neighbourhood friends?

And then reality knocks our door.

We change.
Our priorities change, our lives change and we find our friends disappearing one by one as we get older.

Why do they disappear?
Why do they not understand that everyone's life is not suppose to be the same as theirs?
Why can't they not support their friends' decision not to marry, or have kids, or pursue their career?

Friendships are meant to be about supporting each other, being there for the good times and the worse. And even if friends do not talk with each other for weeks, when they call or meet to catch up, should feel as if time never stopped and they continue from where they left of.

'Someone once said that a real friend is someone you can be having a conversation with as they get on a plane, you don't see them for ten years and when they arrive back they carry on the conversation as they get off the plane like a moment hadn't passed. That's exactly how it is between good friends.' - Richard Templar
