Failure: The Lack of Success.
In other words: the story of my life....😔
I spent so many days practicing and practicing. Preparing for the big moment, getting nervous and anxious... and then... it is all gone.
Positive results are always pleasant, but when negative results are displayed, disappointment is all I feel...
Am I not good enough?
Should I still pursue this?
How could I be so terrible at that?
Putting myself out there is one of the most painful, scariest and vulnerable things one can do. In all aspects of life, failure is always painful.
However, Brenè Brown's book 'Daring Greatly', helped me better understand what vulnerability is and the power it has. She explains why we should all put ourselves out there and try, and fail and then try again... if we want to live more fully!
Theodore Roosevelts' poem 'Final Thoughts' which she includes in her book, summarizes everything we should all understand and believe about failure:
Brown's words, both about failure and the critics, will always resonate with me.
'I also stopped reading anonymous comments. If you are not in the arena with the rest of us, fighting and getting your ass kicked on occasions, I am not interested in your feedback' -Brenė Brown
Here comes Plan B!! 😊
