Have you ever auditioned for a company? A role? A performance?
No? Well, I can reassure you... it is terrifying!
It is like an interview with not just two people in the room but
five…. :@
For artists, auditioning is a routine.
You audition, you fail, you audition again, you fail again and at
some point you succeed and get the job, the role, the performance.
What I do not understand though, is what happens after you fail.
You walk in a room where there is a panel of judges judging you,
writing down their thought and criticizing you.
When the results are finally published, however and you find out that you have not passed/gotten the job/the role etc. if asking for feedback... there is none to be given to you.

Since the panel were writing things down while you were auditioning, there must be a lot of things that you can improve as an
artist.
But no…Not for auditioning panels.
You audition for them, they reject you and you have no idea why….
HONESTLY?
WHY DO YOU NOT GIVE US ANY FEEDBACK IF WE ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH YET?
WE WANT TO IMPROVE.
I detest this mentality.
Not because I have failed but because the people judging me are
not responsible enough to give me some feedback.
If I am not criticized, how am I suppose to improve?
Since I have offered my time and money to an auditioning panel, I
deserve to know why I am not good enough yet.
Some feedback will be hurtful for any artist to hear. Some of us
might get very disappointed and stop pursuing our dreams.
Others will work their asses off to get it right, to improve and be much better.
Constructive criticism always benefits the one receiving it.
So why are artists not entitled to it?
