The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupèry

It is often said that Exypèri’s book The Little Prince should be read at least twice in a lifetime.
Once, as children and twice as adults.

When speaking to one of the children I work with, I asked him if he had read The Little Prince.
His reply was that he had, but did not like it because the prince is not even a prince...

And I smiled knowing that my thoughts were the same when I was young. Not really understanding the whole story but enjoying the little prince's adventures.

When I read the book as a grown up however, I was so unexpectedly heartbroken.
It was as if suddenly everything made sense. I could finally understand the meaning behind the words as if opening a treasure box.

Here are some quotes for you to discover The Little Prince:

"To you, I am nothing more than a fox like a hundred thousand other foxes. But if you tame me, then we shall need each other. To me, you will be unique in all the world. To you, I shall be unique in all the world..."

"And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye."

"All men have the stars," he answered, "but they are not the same things for different people. For some, who are travelers, the stars are guides. For others they are no more than little lights in the sky. For others, who are scholars, they are problems . For my businessman they were wealth. But all these stars are silent. You-- you alone-- will have the stars as no one else has them--"
