Meeting a new colleague is always nerve racking.
- Who is that person?
- Will this person be a teamplayer?
- Will we get along?
Many questions cross our mind, but what we certainly fear is that this new colleague is going to give us a tough time.
Slowly the first conversations begins and we realise that this person could be a good colleague. As the time passes, the conversations get longer and start to move from the typical 'how are you' 'what have you been up to?' to conversations that express each others beliefs and opinions.
But even these conversations do not really bring us closer.
What brings us closer is that one instant in our lives that we both have somehow been through. That event that is very similar to each others, that experience we share in different circumstances and we can both relate to.
And all of a sudden a friendly connection is created and by sharing those experience our meeting is very different than we originally thought. The possibility of a good friendship is just beggining!
