This Week Taught Me...

'To build trust, say the truth' - Simon Sinek.

How difficult is that?

How difficult is it to say the truth? How difficult is it to admit you were wrong? How difficult is it to mean the words you say?

This week taught me a lot.

It taught me that true and honest friendships are rare, therefore I appreciate and I am thankful for my besties.
This week taught me that you might admire people on a personal level but do not necessarily feel the same in a professional level.

This week taught me that everything I thought was safe and stable is actually not.
This week taught me that being brave takes a lot of courage.
This week taught me that supporting your team is brave.
This week taught me there are some battles that I need to face on my own.
This week taught me that the people I trusted are actually not trustworthy.
This week taught me that I am alone.

It was the first time in my pofessional career that I came to realize that I AM ALONE!
Who is there to support me?
Who is my safety net?
Who does actually care about all the work I do?

I spend my days working on a vision that I know might never happen. But if I am not here, in this physical world, trying to create something that the average person can not see... then what am I here for?

To settle for less?
To put up with people that do not respect me or my job?
To be quiet everytime someone tries to step on me, or my team, or my vision?

I am dreamer.... I will always be a dreamer.
Because I learnt that even in the darkest skies, stars are still shining.

And these are the stars I hold on into.
Tightly...

I will never be disrespectful to anyone.
I will never underestimate the value of anyone.
I will never treat another the shamefull way they treat me.
I will never wish for someone to fail.

But, if they dare to harm me and my team...
I will not stay silent.

I have no time to deal with small minded people.

I am here to make a difference.
I WILL make a difference and if the only thing I achieve is for people to respect me, then I will have achieved 90% of my purpose.
