She looked at him.
It was more as if she was observing him instead of looking.
Quietly, from across the room, somewhere he couldn't notice her.
'That shirt really suits him' she thought.
Noticing the way he talked and carried himself across the room, he was talking with the ladies, flirting, laughing. It was the first time she actually heard him laugh.
She realized how he was saying the exact same things he once told her. The same technique and flirting style. She smiled to herself...
'So, he is treating us all the same way' - she thought and looked down at her glass of wine with a smile on her face. That smile of disappointment you are ashamed to admit even to yourself.
She turned around and went outside. She stood at the veranda and looked at the night sky.
She couldn't understand this love- hate feeling she had for him.
She could spend a lot of time swearing and getting angry at him and at the same time still admire him.
How strange and stupid of her.
Looking at the stars she was trying to figure out why. She kept on thinking and thinking until suddenly things started to get clearer.
She turned around and looked at him once more from outside the window.
She noticed the way he was reflecting all the things she was not. All his strengths were all of her weaknesses and she couldn't understand how to face them. She admired him knowing that it was not allowed.
Leaving her glass of wine on the table, in the middle of the veranda, she turned around and looked at him once more.
'That shirt really suits him'- she thought.
She turned around, got down the stairs and started heading home.
