Over the past, very difficult, 10 days or so... mental health got to be a priority.
Trying to figure out what the human brain was going through, the internet provided a space of discovery.
'A burnout is a bone-tired, soul-tired, heart-tired, kind of exhaustion' = J. Pennebaker
That was the starting point to figuring out what a burnout actually is.
According to Mark Rego's article in Psychology Today 'Burnout Can Affect Anyone' there are three ways in understanding if you are going through a burnout.
Firstly, you feel exhausted and tired.
Secondly, you have negative feelings and emotions toward your job, the workplace, the colleagues and so on.
Thirdly, you feel as if your work is waste of time and ineffective to the bigger picture.
Ellen Hendriksen in her article '7 Ways to Recover From Burnout', mentions the following:
- Take care of your body and health
- Understand what is causing you the burnout
- Look ahead, at the future
- Take action and change your perspective in the things you can control
- Make some decisions
- Understand your worth
- Take some time off and start some hobbies.
