- Pablo Picasso (painter and sculptor) lived 92 years.
- His full name is Pablo, Diego, Jose, Francisco de Paula, Juan Nepomuceno, Maria de los Remedios, Cipriano de la Santisima Trinidad, Ruiz y Picasso.
- During his lifetime, he has created 50 000 works of art.
- He hated school and was really bad in maths. In fact, he once said that when he was younger, he had to do a math exam and his examiner was one of his father's friends. In an attempt to help him pass the exam, the teacher told him to write on the board 4 or 5 things his knows. Picasso had no idea what to write, so that in the end, the teacher wrote down the answers and asked him to copy them on the exam paper.
- He has been awarded the Lenin Peace Prize in 1950 and 1961.
- He artwork Guernica was created during the 2nd World War when the Spanish city Gernica was bombarded and fully destroyed on the 27th of April 1937. Picasso was in shock from everything that he experienced. He made his first sketch of the work 4 days later and 5 days later he finished the work. This artwork portrays the horror of war and all the suffering to that extend that it is still relevant today!
