Did this really happen?

She walked in the room.

Approaching her from behind, she turned and looked at him. Sharing some words and without her expecting it, he stood next to her, put his hand over her back, on her hand, near her shoulder. He held her close to his body and she felt his warmth.

He touched her arm and pulled her closer.

She felt his hand travelling from her shoulder to her hip.

He was warm and held her tight.

She held her breath.

She didn't know how to react. She wasn't expecting it. She was nervous.

She turned and looked at him.

Their eyes met. And whilst there were several people in the room, for that short, tiny moment, everyone disappeared. She was alone with him. Just the two of them.

'Is he going to kiss me?' - was the thought passing through her mind in that split of a second.

Realizing it, she turned away.

The room was back to normal and people were coming in and out.

She wanted to pretend that everything was ok but she knew it was obvious that she was nervous.

Her mind was full of thoughts and her heart was racing.

She held the paperwork in her hands and she couldn't read it. She couldn't concentrate, she couldn't make sense of it.

Distancing herself from him she was trying to keep herself together.

'Did this really happen?' - she kept on asking herself.

Silently she left the room. She didn't want him to see how vulnerable she was at that moment. How intense that moment was for her and how much she wanted his warmth again.

'I don't know if he feels the same'- she thought to herself in an attempt to make sense of her feelings for him. 'What I do know however, is that I do not want to mess this up...' - and this was more of a promise to herself, than just a simple thought.
