"But their eyes when they met, spoke more fondly and kissed tenderly" - War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy
They looked at each other's eyes.
Her thoughts just stopped. Peace of Mind.
Time stopped while she was looking in his brown eyes.
The third person in the group asked a question. Time was back to normal.
He turned to the third person and replied.
She was quiet and looked down at her paper.
"It happened again" - she thought.
She leaned back on her chair.
She observed him.
"How is that possible? Does this happen to him as well?" - she asked herself.
She saw him writing that woman's name on the paper.
She looked down at the floor. "Probably not"- she thought
"We have one extra person in the group" - said the third person.
"I volunteer not to come" - she quickly replied turning her statement to a joke.
He did not reply. He didn't like the "joke".
He knew she was serious.
She said no more. She didn't want to upset him.
They both left the room taking opposite directions.
She was not used to this. She was not used to expressing herself or being emotionally vulnerable.
She preferred to keep people at a distance. She preferred to be quiet, not to talk, not to discuss things. She preferred to isolate and solve things on her own. This is how she knew how to handle her emotions.
But things were different now.
He challenged her and he didn't even know.
He had an impact on her.
Time stops whenever he looks at her.
Her thoughts stop whenever he is around
He makes her feel safe.
And whenever he gets on her nerves, it doesn't last long.
- How is it possible not to be mad at someone for long?
She went back to the time she asked him, if she could wish him luck. He refused and she never tried again.
Or the time he asked her to participate in a project. She never thanked him for.
"I didn't want to wish you luck"- she whispered as if he was around.
"I just wanted to find out how it feels like to be in your arms"
She looked at him from afar.
"Who knows?" - she thought.
"Maybe one day I will find out..." - she smiled while entertaining that thought and entered the room.
