It has almost been 4 weeks, but she is still in pain. She distances herself and she will be distancing herself for as long as it takes. Take him out of her system.
She invited her to the "party". Everyone was saying what a great guy he is, until his partner showed up. Then everything changes. Suddenly the focus is on how great she is and him treating her as the love of his life.
That was the moment she realised how fake everyone is. How fake he is.
He invited her over to showcase his partner as if he was saying, she is the one for me and you are the side chick, because I have concluded I am the best guy ever.
She decided to leave. She was treated with disrespect and she wanted to go.
She couldn't stop crying. She had a very important event the following day and she couldn't rest. She cried all the way home, the whole night, the following day.
"I made a mistake. I should have never gone. I should have never trusted..."
As the days go by she is able to see clearly.
His circle is full of people that only care about their ego, making fun of others just so that they can feel important. They only care about money and get into relationships that can benefit them in one way or another.
"Do I want these people around me? "
"Do I want to let these people know things about me?"- she thought.
No one talks about ideas. No one talks about books. No one dreams. No one cares about another. They build no valuable relationships... They only care about their image.
The essence of their existence is on how to belittle other people. How to bring them down and make fun of them.
They are a group of privileged bullies that only care about themselves.
No wonder why they are not able to trust each other.
"Sometimes I wonder: When they lay in bed at night, are they able to sleep?"
"There is always a place for small talk. But this is not small talk. This is disgusting."
Deep inside she kind of hoped he was different.
This however, wasn't his fault. It was hers.
For expecting too much from someone that could give so little.
