They entered the restaurant and walked towards the table.
The guys were already waiting for them.
The table was near the windows. They watched the people walk by, this beautiful and warm Saturday night.
She sat next to him.
"It looks like she has chosen" - he said to his friend sitting opposite him.
She didn't pay attention. She wanted to relax, enjoy the food and the company.
She started talking with the rest of the friends, laughing and enjoying the warm summery night.
She noticed how he gently put his arms on her chair, came closer to her, touched her kindly...
She didn't feel threatened. She actually felt protected and taken care of...
"What am I thinking?" - she thought. "He is not interested in me". And she continued socialising with the rest of the group.
He was loud and funny. She enjoyed his company and wanted to spend more time with him.
And when they started sharing their own conversations, they were interrupted by the rest of the group.
"Are we so obvious?" - she thought.
Leaning back on her chair, she suddenly heard...
"Since the other guy is not offering you any flowers, take mine"
She looked down at the table. Two small pink flowers were in front of her.
She froze.
"Did he just offer me flowers"? - she thought while turning to look at him.
He said nothing.
She looked back down at the table.
"Yes, he just did"- she thought.
"Thank you very much" - she kept on repeating. "That is so sweet"
He said nothing.
His gesture was sweet and charming and beautiful. Two tiny pink flowers made her so happy. She let her guard down and felt that she was being treated like a woman.
She forgot what that actually felt like...
She had a smile on her face for the rest of the night.
"That means he cares, right?" - she kept on thinking.
It was time to go.
She stood up, took her flowers and put them in her bag.
He saw her... Kept on looking at her... and stayed silent.
