He Had No Intention of Helping Her

Everyone was in the dining room.

The house was full of people and as the dinner was getting ready, she asked to be excused so that she could prepare the essay that was due the next day.

She made herself comfortable in the living room's sofa and started working on her essay.

At some point, two men entered the room. One of them was a bit older than her and very skinny, the second man was much older and looked as if he was in his sixties.

They were laughing and being really loud.

"They are probably drunk" - she thought.

They approached her and started asking her questions.

"Why are you not joining us in the dining room"

"I am studying for uni. Is the food ready yet?" - she asked but got no reply.

"There you are" - the party's host entered the room with another woman.

"We are trying to convince her to join you in the dining room" - the skinny guy said

"Let's see if you can" - the host asked and started laughing.

The tall, skinny guy then approached the girl and sat really close to her on the sofa.

He put his arm around her shoulders and with a whisky seasoned breath, he asked her

"So, how old are you?

The girls started laughing nervously.

"Are you single?"

She continued laughing, feeling very nervous.

"Have you had any serious relationships?"

The girl turned towards the host and looked at him with a look that was asking for help.

However, that was useless. He continued laughing at the situation with no willingness to save her from the drunk stranger.

"How much is your salary at work?" - the skinny man asked her.

She was in shock. She had her laptop on her knees and even though she wanted to run away, she froze.

"I think it is time to go" - the older man said and approached the skinny guy, held his arm and led him to the door.

She was relieved.

Her heart's beats were slowing down.

She tried to put her thoughts in order. What was that all about? - she thought.

She couldn't understand what bothered her the most.

The fact that the skinny guy was intrusive and rude to her, making her feel uncomfortable, or the fact that the host , who invited her to this party, had no intention of helping her.

In the contrary, he stood there and laughed at her.

That was the last time she ever visited his place.

He was no longer a friend of hers.
